Children in Foster Care in Arizona Need You

When you decide to become a foster parent, the impact you can have on Arizona youth in need goes far beyond simply inviting them into your home. Foster parents have the opportunity to instill lifelong values and help prepare foster children for a bright future. You can be an essential part of shaping these children for the future. These firsthand stories allow prospective foster parents (like you) to hear about what it takes to foster a child, what to expect, and how foster parents are essential now and always to Arizona youth.

  • "These children just need one person to be in their corner and not give up on them."

    - Foster Parent

  • "Three things that I think are very important are being patient, consistent, and compassionate"

    - Foster Parent

  • "I became a foster parent for the purpose of helping empower children and families."

    - Foster Parent

  • "I would say it's the hardest thing you will ever do - as any kind of parent would agree - but also the most rewarding"

    - Foster Parent

Foster a Future - Change 2 Lives

By submission of this message, I/we authorize the Department of Child Safety (DCS) to release the above information on a need-to-know basis to other child-placing agencies and DCS contractors, as needed, to begin the foster home licensing or adoption certification process.

Other Ways to Help

If you want to help foster a child but aren’t quite ready to become a foster parent, there are other ways to get involved. Consider donating to a DCS partner organization, becoming a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), volunteering at foster events, or even just sharing a social post to bring awareness to this important cause.

  • Donate to DCS Organizations
  • Volunteer at Foster Events
  • Become a Court-Appointed Special Advocate
