Dr. Susan Stephens with CMDP sends in an amazing Shout Out to Kim Light:
I would like to give a Shout Out for Kim Light, RN. Kim is the Director of the DCS/CMDP Health Services Unit. In this role, she oversees a large staff of behavioral and medical professionals.
Kim recently received a call regarding a foster family who continued to receive medical bills from the collections office of a local healthcare facility. In her usual manner, Kim immediately responded to this problem and notified the proper parties and took the necessary steps to get the healthcare provider to “cease and desist”. Foster caregivers are not allowed to be billed for healthcare services received for the child in out-of-home care.
Here are the comments of praise that Kim received from the foster parent:
Kim Light I don't know you but I would like to say THANK YOU so much. This has been a long hard battle and I want to thank you Kim, someone that doesn't even know me but was willing to drop all and do everything she could to get this fixed. I can't thank you enough. So because of you Kim and Maria going and doing more than any other to help in this. THANK YOU THANK YOU and THANK YOU. If I was closer to the capitol I would take you both to lunch you two are the best! Thank you again.
The comments from the caller were likewise awesome:
The minute I contacted Kim, she dropped everything and was on stand-by to get this issue resolved.
I plan to let Mr. McKay know of her awesome efforts to get this resolved for the family.
You walk on water as far as I am concerned.
People complain all the time about state employees--boy, not me when someone like you dropped everything to take care of this matter for a citizen of our state.
Thank you Kim, for everything you daily to make CMDP such a successful health plan!
