DCS caseworkers deal with children facing all kinds of personal struggles. Sometimes, a child is dealing with both a difficult family life and a health problem as well. As anyone can imagine, that’s a lot for a child to handle. DCS case manager Lindsey Gruca has been working with a child who needed significant medical care and a foster placement – a sometimes challenging combination, but one that’s important to fulfill. Lindsey took time out of her own schedule to do the extra legwork needed – including spending time at the hospital with the child - to find an appropriate placement that meets both medical and foster care requirements. Because of Lindsey’s willingness to work the case around-the-clock, this case has had a successful outcome. Thank you, Lindsey, for a job well done!
