Fentanyl overdoses have rapidly become one of Arizona’s most urgent public health emergencies. In recent years, Arizona has witnessed alarming increases in fentanyl-related overdoses, particularly among teenagers and young adults.
This highly potent synthetic opioid is often hidden in substances that teens experiment with, making awareness and prevention critically important.
Conversations about drugs, especially fentanyl, can be uncomfortable—but silence is riskier. It’s OK to be a buzzkill. Your willingness to talk openly protects your kids and empowers them to make safe choices.
Create a judgment-free space, ask questions, listen, and communicate the risks. One honest conversation can save a life.
