Jeremiah started using drugs at a very young age and considered himself an addict by age 16. He says he didn’t grow up in the best environment and that fed into his cycle of using and getting into trouble with the law.
“When my ex got pregnant with my oldest I started actively seeking out treatment for my addiction.”
Jeremiah sought sobriety and support from his family and from the community, which helped him ultimately achieve sobriety. He started attending church and serving at a homeless shelter to help gain some perspective. His advice to others in a similar situation? “Try to go that first day. Once you get a little clarity you can think a little better and make better choices. It’s definitely worth it.”
