After Lauren’s son was removed from her care, DCS provided a list of things she needed to work on to get him back. She had already decided to try to get clean on her own but was unsuccessful multiple times, so she entered a residential treatment program for support. “We were successfully reunified after 13 months, so it ended well for us.”

Lauren says the bond created through the rough season she and her family went through is stronger than ever before. Something Lauren emphasizes is how many times it took for her to get clean... It wasn’t easy or straightforward, but she never gave up hope. The one thing Lauren would like to say to anyone struggling with addiction is, “Don’t give up on yourself.”
