CPS has conducted two investigations regarding Tajaa. The first report was received in August 2006 and included allegations of physical abuse of Tajaa by her mother. The allegations were unable to be substantiated. The second investigation involved two reports received a little over a week apart in August and September 2007. Both contained allegations of past physical abuse of Tajaa while living with her mother. At the time the abuse was reported, Tajaa was living with another relative. The allegations were unable to be substantiated.
Actions taken by CPS in response to the fatality or near fatality of the child:
Child Protective Services jointly investigated the allegations with Phoenix Police Department. Another child in the home was placed in the care of a relative.
